Mariana Dillogah team successful at classic car ride in Niederndorf
Five teams participated in the pre-start last Saturday at the 6th classic car ride “Rund um Freudenberg,” organized by the Rallyefreunde Niederndorf under the supervision of the AMC Burbach. Starting from the Freudenberg district of Niederndorf, the route, meticulously designed by Michael Reineck and Peter Bottenberg, led the 88 participants through the beautiful Westerwald region. After covering almost 70 kilometers, the historic vehicles and their crews took a well-deserved break at Marienstatt Abbey in Streithausen near Hachenburg. Following the lunch break, the second stage, spanning 75 kilometers, guided the participants back to Niederndorf through the picturesque landscapes of the Westerwald.
In the sporting classification, Walter Schneider from Netphen and Nicole Jentsch from Leverkusen, with their 1973 Porsche 911 ST, were the sole team representing AMC Burbach with the starting number 5. With a total of 206.8 penalty points, this experienced duo secured 7th place in the “Sport 1” class in the final standings. In the touring category of the classic car rally, four teams from AMC Burbach took part. Mariana Dillogah and Meinhard Rittmeier from Wermelskirchen performed exceptionally well, earning only 32.8 penalty points. They narrowly missed out on the overall victory in the touring category, falling short by a mere 0.9 penalty points. The top three positions in the fiercely contested “Touring Sport 1” class were determined solely by the results of the three time trials. The crucial factor was the GLP 2, where the team in their ’78 Porsche 911 missed out on victory by a very narrow margin, with a deviation of only 2.1 seconds from the ideal time. The overall winners in this class were Jörg and Barbara Hahn from MSC Adenau.
