Karla received a 12-year prison term despite being found guilty of the rape and murder of three young girls. The prosecution offered her a “plea bargain.” Surprisingly, she surrendered to the police after Bernardo’s escalating aggression and abuse.

Dubbed “The Witch of Ontario,” Karla faced a choice: either testify against her ex for a reduced sentence or face full charges. She opted for the former and was incarcerated at Kingston’s Women’s Prison until 2005.

Logan, feeling ashamed by her older sister’s arrest, aimed to distance herself. She disliked the negative attention on her family and sought to avoid it. Consequently, in 1996, she changed her name from “Lori” to “Logan,” enabling her to conceal her true identity and pursue a more ordinary life.
