  1. Open the Instagram app.
  2. On the stories feed, locate the profile picture of the person you want to mute.
  3. Long-press their profile picture.
  4. A menu will appear with different options. Tap on the “Mute” option.
  5. From the submenu, select “Mute Story” to mute their stories.

By following these steps, you’ll successfully mute the stories of the selected person on your Instagram feed.

Method #1: From Their Profile

  3. Search for the profile of the person you have muted.
  4. Tap on the “Following” option located below their bio.

Method #2: From Settings

If you have been muting people’s stories left and right (you have your reasons, no judgment here), and you can’t remember whom you muted, don’t worry! I have a solution for you too:

  2. Tap on the profile icon located in the bottom right corner.
  3. Tap on the hamburger menu icon in the top right corner.
  4. Select “Settings.”
  5. Choose “Privacy.”
  6. Scroll down and select “Muted accounts.” This will display a list of the accounts you have muted so far.
  7. Tap on the account whose stories you want to unmute. Their profile will appear, and you can now follow the steps in Method #1 to unmute them.
  8. You can also apply the same steps mentioned above to unmute someone’s posts on Instagram.

By following these steps, you can easily find and unmute the stories or posts of the accounts you have previously muted.
