Preferring to stay indoors due to his health condition, he discovered a passion for cooking under the guidance of his aunt. Choosing to drop out of high school, he delved into the art of pizza-making, learning the craft of Mozzarella cheese production at Mike’s Deli in the Bronx.

Career

Chris’s life took a turn when he moved to Phoenix and began supplying Mozzarella cheese to a pizza business. Learning about catering operations, he ventured into creating pizzas in a Wood Pizza Oven. A catering event attendant, Cosco, noticed him and provided a space in the corner of his shop to sell and craft pizzas.

Chris started selling Margherita, Marinara, and a unique pizza on the corner, gaining citywide fame. In 1988, he decided to turn his pizza-making skills into a full-time, lucrative profession.

To enhance his craft, Chris worked tirelessly, saving money to travel to Italy for six months of pizza-making studies.
