Monsoon season (June to August)
Nepal experiences rainfall from late May to the month of August. The season sometimes even lasts till mid-September. These months are not favorable for an adventure like trekking in Nepal.
The ways are slippery also moving forward during heavy rainfall and the wind is very risky in higher destinations. Very few people visit Nepal to trek during this season. However, the weather is perfect during this season for visiting the capital and other cities of Nepal.
If you plan any trek during this season make sure to confirm your safety with your guide and agent. A few safer treks include Nagarkot Trek, Saranngkot Trek, Gandruk Trek, etc. as they are shorter and have well-constructed paths.
It is an off-season time in Nepal so one can find cheaper accommodations and goods. Visiting cultural places, historic palaces, and city areas is equally fun as the weather is outstanding.

Autumn Season (September to November)

The season lies just after monsoon which means most of the dust, and mud from the air is reduced and there is greenery all around. These are perfect reasons to visit other cities in Nepal prior to or after your trek. Most of the locals return back to their homes and villages and take a break from work. Nepal glows differently during this season.

Winter Season (December-February)
One already expects a very cold climate when trekking to the mountains and the cold becomes unbearable when it’s the peak winter season.
Winter is experienced all over Nepal during the month of December, January, and February. The cold climate changes to warm in late March only in Nepal.
Trekking in the Himalayas during the winter is a very tough thing. The temperature drops below freezing point and below minus ten degrees in many places.
Surviving the cold and managing the increasing altitude together can be life-threatening. Most of the ways are blocked due to heavy snow and hence are closed till the weather gets warmer in March. The nights are very much colder.
One can however trek in the lower regions of Everest during this season. The sun is out during the daytime providing warmth. The higher regions mostly above 5000 ft. in the Everest region are shut down.
Lagtang trek, Kopra Danda trek, Ghorepani Poon Hill trek are recommended only if one can bare cold very well. Also, there is almost no crowd during this time of the month so a alone and chaos-free journey is possible.
