Demetrius Flenory, also known as Big Meech, was arrested on November 11, 2003, in connection with the shooting deaths at Club Chaos in the Buckhead area. The victims were Anthony “Wolf” Jones, a former guardian of P. Diddy, and his friend Lamont “Riz” Girdy.
Although Flenory was injured in the incident, he avoided charges by claiming self-defense. Subsequently, in 2005, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) targeted members of the Black Mafia Family, ultimately focusing on the Flenory brothers under the Continuing Criminal Enterprise Statute. In November 2007, the brothers admitted to operating a criminal enterprise.
In September 2008, the two brothers were sentenced to 30 years in prison for running a cocaine-dealing network from 2000 to 2005. The subsequent investigations led to the identification of over 1000 members of the organization.
