Jonathan Cheban’s Gay Rumors Begin With Kim Kardashian’s Ex-Husband
Jonathan Cheban, widely known as Foodgod, is an American reality television personality, businessman, and former publicist. He hails from Moldova and was raised in Fort Lee, New Jersey, with a heritage of Russian Jewish descent. Cheban gained initial fame through appearances on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and its spin-off series.
In one episode of the show, he was pressured to address his sexual orientation after Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kris Humphries, implied that he might not be straight. Cheban retaliated by suggesting that Humphries himself might be gay.
Following the dramatic confrontation with Kardashian and Humphries in 2011, Cheban was approached by HollywoodCIA outside a bar and questioned about Humphries’ remarks. Responding with a nonchalant attitude, Cheban remarked, “I don’t know, maybe he’s homosexual.”
His response sparked reactions from YouTube subscribers, with some interpreting his tone as confident and implying that it revealed his true orientation. Others speculated that Cheban might be bisexual or closeted, using terms like “queen” and urging him to “come out.”
Who Is Jonathan Cheban?
As mentioned earlier, Cheban is a prominent publicist and reality TV personality. He gained fame through various television shows, including “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” “Kourtney and Khloe Take The Hamptons,” “The Spin Crowd,” and “Celebrity Big Brother.” In 2017, he participated in the second season of “Celebs Go Dating.”
Known as Kardashian’s closest friend, Cheban is also recognized for his 2008 clothing label, Kritik, and his designer jewelry business, RichRocks.
Additionally, he is known for his New York-based fast-food venture, Burger Bandit, and his 2019 podcast project, “Foodgod: OMFG!.” In October 2019, Cheban legally changed his name to FoodGod, although he continues to be addressed as Cheban in public despite the new moniker.
Is Cheban a gay man?
Despite widespread rumors and suspicions, there is no direct evidence to suggest that Cheban is homosexual. On the contrary, there is ample evidence indicating that he is heterosexual.
Firstly, Cheban has a history of dating women. Additionally, he appeared as a single man seeking a partner on season seven of “The Millionaire Matchmaker,” a matchmaking reality TV show that aired in 2014.
Furthermore, his well-known relationship with model and stylist Anat Popovsky lends further support to his heterosexuality. The former couple dated for a significant period after meeting in 2012 but later parted ways in April 2014.
Photos of Cheban with Miss Popovsky outside a Los Angeles party on June 17, 2013, just two days after his close friend Kardashian gave birth, were widely circulated, according to reports from Hollywood Life.
According to the same source, Cheban had previous relationships with Maria Menounos and Catherine Portes before dating Popovsky. Menounos is a well-known American actress and journalist, particularly recognized for her work with World Wrestling Entertainment.
However, Miss Portes is not widely recognized. Cheban was also rumored to be involved with “Jersey Shore” star Sammi Giancola in April 2011, with photographs of them together in public surfacing on the streets of Manhattan on April 12, 2011.
